I’m glad to say that fall is once again upon us! I’ve already kicked out some pumpkin pie, pumpkin cookies, and pumpkin bread. I kind of like pumpkin… A WHOLE LOT. Also, the mister and I have been in our new Dallas apartment for 3 months as of today! Today also marks the end of my hunt for holiday inventory, and I’m a little bummed. Luckily for me, the holiday season is still entirely ahead of us. I’ve got lots of Christmas goodies this year that I am very proud of! I know you will all love them too. I’ve also got a lot of Christmas projects to work on this fall, so I’ll give a sneak peek into those in the future as well.
For now, I leave you with this tried-and-tasty vegan pumpkin pie recipe we tested the other night! Bonus: It’s also pretty healthy and you don’t need to be vegan to love it!
Vegan Pumpkin Pie Recipe
1 16 oz can pumpkin puree (my can was only about 15 oz)
3/4 cup sugar (I used almost twice as much… don’t judge me)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon clove (I didn’t have any so I substituted nutmeg and allspice)
1 12 oz package soft tofu, processed in blender until smooth
1 9 inch pie shell (I made mine from scratch with some wheat flour, you don’t have to though)
1. Cream pumpkin and sugar.
2. Add salt, spices, and tofu.
3. Bake at 425 for 15 minutes, then at 350 for 40 minutes.
4. Chill and serve.

Cyber Monday: Drop by the shop (zoeamaris.etsy.com) to receive 25% OFF EVERYTHING from 6 am to 11pm CST.
Sorry for making everyone wait so long for a post again! I’ve been so busy working on getting the rest of my holiday inventory. SO Thanksgiving is here again! Even though I am a vegetarian, I still get excited about the holiday for many reasons: 1) I LOVE pumpkin and mashed potatoes 2) My birthday always falls within a week from Thanksgiving 3) When I was little, the passing of Thanksgiving meant it was time to bring the Christmas decorations out of the attic! So needless to say, I’m getting pretty anxious. However, like most people (especially women), something I enjoy almost as much as the smell of a warm pumpkin pie is what comes after- Black Friday! I must admit part of it’s probably really just about the adrenaline rush, but being as my mother was the Coupon Queen before coupon-ing was even cool the other part is just loving a kick-ass deal! So I’m pretty sale happy come time for the holidays and I know I’m not the only one. Lucky for you, that means I’ll be hosting a lot of holiday sales in the shop ( zoeamaris.etsy.com ). And I promise to keep up with my blog posting through the end of the year, even if it’s only to keep you informed of the upcoming sales. I’ll be posting sometime in the next few days to announce my Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals so be sure to stay tuned!
I had a ton of these little baskets from a left over project and knew they’d be perfect for this! I made a few of these the other night and I absolutely love them. I used bird gravel for the stuffing which made these nice and heavy. Used some of my old lace scraps, one of those fabric circles, and one of my lovely antique buttons. I’ll keep you updated as I work on some other styles!
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend! I’ve been so very busy but I’ve finally brought you an update on the pin cushions. I’ve just gotten a huge lot of vintage fabric circle scraps and have listed some in the shop as well. There’s tons of beautiful patterns and I can’t wait to get to work! I’ll be picking up some stuffing later this week and hope to be posting another update soon after. Have a lovely week everyone!
Over the next couple weeks I’m planning to start making some sweet little pin cushions made from old Victorian fabric scraps, lace, etc… I’m very excited to see what I come up with and hope to have plenty on hand for Christmas. If all goes well I may even make some into ornaments! (I’m planning on making handmade ornaments as all of our gifts this year.) If you’re like me, you love crafts that use up those heaps of scraps you’ve collected. So start collecting your scraps now because I’ll be showing you lots of ways to use them this fall!
I’ll be updating you guys soon,
It’s only 3.5 months away from Christmas! For some of you that’s a long time, but if you’re like me- you’re already planning your holiday projects! Starting next month, I’ll be adding several different collections from my holiday collection to the shop. Stay tuned for updates!
You’ve been told one million times, but every now and then you really have to take some time for yourself! I spend so much time on my shop, school, and those other not fun adult things that having some time to work on my art is totally priceless! I Hope that in between all the get-togethers, you’ll find some time for yourself this long weekend!
